Sigri AX natural

natural

The farm was founded in 1950 and is located in the Waghi Valley, where the coffee enjoys a perfect climate for cultivation.

The Sigri Plantation, where the “Sigri” Coffee comes from, only contains the best Arabica varieties like Arusha and Typica.

The quality control begins in the field – all cherry coffee is hand-picked and carefully checked for uniformity.

It must be red and and fully ripe which allows the correct balance of sugar and acid within the cherry.

This selected cherry is then pulped on the same day of picking, fermented or washed through a process of three days.

Sun-drying further enhances the coffee and, unlike many others, all Sigri Coffee is sun-dried.

Careful preparation, hulling, grading and hand sorting follows.

Sigri Plantation, located in the Waghi Valley in the Western Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea, was established in the 1950’s and rapidly gained the reputation for producing the finest Arabica coffee in the country. This reputation has continued to grow and Sigri has been internationally recognized as producing a gourmet coffee, equal tot he world’s best, for more than 20 years. At almost 1550 meters above sea level the plantation enjoys a cool climate and bountiful rainfall, the ideal environment for growing Arabica coffee.
