this small coffee farm is located in Northern Nicaragua. Since The owner Diédericks Gadea was 12 years old his parents taught him to work by producing vegetables. After years of hardworking, he was finally able to buy some land. At the beginning it used to be an abandoned farm, but it completely changed when Los Encuentros became the first farm producing “ecoforestal” coffee in the community, an environmental-friendly system that integrates different kind of trees, plants, and coffee. Nowadays the area is totally reforested and some endangered species have returned to their woodlands. The farm is operated by 20 full-time employees and 40 part-time workers.
