Francisco Del Socorro Salgado has been a coffee producer since he was 20 years old
and he decided to raise a family with Mrs. Blanca Nieve Lanzas. Together they have 1
daughter and 4 sons. It’s been 33 years of hardworking, buying small pieces of land year
by year, and planting coffee in Las Mercedes, next to the nature reserve Cerro Datanli – El
Diablo; an area located in Northern Nicaragua, 12 km north of the City of Jinotega and 177
km from Managua the Capital. Today the Las Mercedes farm has an total size of 42 ha on
which 36 ha are used for the annual coffee production: 577 bags (69 kg).
