ASDECAFÉ (Asociación Sostenible de Café de Guatemala), is an association with more than 1000 members.
It is a group of several first-level cooperatives of the Huehuetenango and Quiche regions, growing its coffee at the top of the Cuchumatanes Mountain Chain.
The small cooperatives are traditional, and mostly Mayan speaking, indigenous farmers. They work together for a sustainable business and are dedicated to a clean environment
and social initiatives.
They have successfully initiated young farmers and women into the coffee production and maintain a constant and guaranteed high coffee quality.
ASDECAFÉ is currently certified Organic and Fairtrade and is working towards a RFA certification.
To be able to guarantee technical assistance, cost sharing and pre-financing to the smaller cooperatives, they are always looking to expand and build long-term relationships

The coffee is mostly grown under Gravilea and Inga shade trees which make 7% of the national forest. It is always hand-picked and dried under the sun, except for the Cobán coffee, which production region is sometimes too humid.
Main production areas: San Marcos, Huehuetenango, Atitlán, Acatenango, Antigua, Cobán, Fraijanes, Oriente.
Cup Profile: A fragrant, full bodied coffee with pleasant citrus acidity. Depending on the region the coffee can vary from intense acidity and fruit notes to delicate sweetness and chocolatey.
