he origin of the coffee “Finca Rosenheim” is located in the Peruvian jungle, in the Villa Rica highlands. To get there from Lima you need nine hours, crossing over the Andes; the highest point being 4818 mts.
The Finca is surrounded by idyllic natural landscapes. The coffee trees are shaded by native and reforested forests, so the farm is contributing effectively with local reforestation, preserving the area’s flora and fauna. The planting, maintenance and harvesting is carefully made by hand. The employees are only regional workers. This helps responsibly the local community.
Coffee is pulped, fermented, washed and dried in the sun. The whole process is done on the plantation’s grounds.
The farm’s owners are an ex-patriots of Switzerland: Gisela Neumann and her son. Both host the farm together.
The caffeine is extracted from the swollen green
coffee by naturally available carbon dioxide. CO2 is
an elementary part of our natural environment. It
exist as a gas or dissolved in water and is part of the
air. Under certain temperature and pressure conditions
the CO2 can be used to decaffeinated green
coffee.
