Cooperative La Majada
This cooperative was founded 1966 to commercialize their coffee as a group and be able to make some profit for their communities. From then on it has been philosophy to take dictions democratically and to intergrade and educate everyone in the cooperative.

The cooperatives farmers have been thus, benefiting technically, socially and economically from their membership. Modern installations have been built, so that farmers can productively process they crops for export.
La Majada Cooperative is known for the benefit it has brought not only the farmers themselves, but all the families in its community. It has shown leadership amongst cooperatives of its kind. The use of technology has been adapted to the climatic and topographic region singular to this union, were coffee is planted near the coast and low above sea level.

The constant fight of small farmers against coffee rust and broca gets support from greater institutions in El Salvador.
