Cafe Granja La Esperanza manages 3 farms: Cerro Azul, Potosi, and Las Margaritas. Another exotic variety from finca las margaritas is red bourbon. Bourbon is one of the earliest cultivar of typica. it was first introduced in 1860 to southern Brazil. From Bourbon Island (now La reunión), where it was cultivivated by french missionaries in the early 1700s, it spread north into Central America. Bourbon is known for its distinctively sweet and delicate flavour. The plants are fragile and don’t produce as much fruit as some other varieties. this red bourbon was fermented between 19 and 22 hours in order to get the most exiting flavors out of these special beans.
