Colombia has been one of the countries with the greatest influence of different indigenous groups.

During the time when the Emberas resisted the imposed customs, they fought tirelessly to maintain their convictions and justice, however, this struggle ended up disappearing due to the wave of violence they lived through.

The department of Tolima has been affected by the armed conflict in Colombia, living similar moments to the Embera, today in the municipality of Planadas, the activity of these groups has decreased and they have started a new life and taking advantage of the natural resources of the region.

Planadas is located in the southeast of the department of Tolima, in the area of influence of the snowy park, between the Nevado del Tolima and Nevado del Huila, the influence of the volcanoes gives the soils of this region a very good natural fertility, that is reflected in the quality of the coffee produced there.
