This coffee grows in Muyinga province in northern Burundi, a beautiful hilly region with an average altitude of 1500-1700 m.a.s.l. on volcanic soil.
It is close to the Ruvubu national park and crossed by the Nile river.
Since 2021 the coffee is processed at karambo washing station under the management of Girukwishaka Etienne, the washing station works together
with aprox. 2000 farmers from the region, with farms spread over 50 hectares.
The excellent climate lends the red Bourbon variety into a coffee with sweet, caramel and chocolate flavors.
