Campestre is a small town where the climate is propitious to producing high quality coffee due to the mild weather and the altitude; that’s where Luis’ grandparents started to grow their first coffee trees and then passed along from generation to generation. Since he was a child, Luis would learn from his father the art of cultivating coffee and processing it. He was able to improve his practices with the assistance of Cooxupé’s agronomists, checking on soil analysis, assuring the health of each plant and adjusting his practices to produce higher quality coffees. “Serra Negra”, which means “Black Mountain”, is a name which originated from the neighborhood the property is located.
