The Fazenda Pedra Redonda is located in the municipality of Araponga, in the State of Minas Gerais, in a region called Matas de Minas, where coffees of great quality are produced. The Araponga’s region has around 80% of the farms above 1000 meters.
The Region doesn’t have the praxis of using pesticides. Most of the growers have small and median properties and most of them work with “partners” (parceiros) or work in family. 80% of the region`s agribusiness is composed by coffee.
The farm is administrated by José Bernardes Santana, coffee grower for more than 30 years. The Coffee is handpicked, due to the mountains machines are not used, and then transported to the patio or to the “African beds” where it is sun dried.
In the period of harvest the number of employees stays around 80 to 100 people, all of them properly registered in accordance with Brazilian law, and they receive from the farm any kind of assistance they need. The Fazenda Pedra Redonda has a very developed system of administration that allowed the farm to identify and correct the problems that appears along the years, always seeking the constantly improvement of the quality in the processes.

Espirito Santo: the state with the second largest coffee production; largest Robusta production in Brazil; 70% Robusta and 30% Arabica; Main export ports: Vitoria in the state of Espirito Santo, Salvador de Bahia in the state of Bahia.
São Paulo: the state with the third largest coffee production. Only produces Arabica; Main export port: Santos in the state of São Paulo.
Parana: one of the states with the lowest production (approx. 2%)
